BodhiCat Talk Fake News: Ari Joins Hadam’s New Group, Ultra Pussy 119. Bomi Says “No Thanks”

Centuries before there was a short-haired blonde (or sometimes a long-haired brunette) bomb named Bomi blowing up KPOP Cover with her incredible body & post-fashion, kind-of-Goth style, there was the drool-bomb-thcck-amazing-looking-amateur-with-a-cum-making-tatoo-on-her-ankle-total-korean-like-kimchee-stew-brick-house named Ari.  (Whew!)

Ari is our favorite no name, no group affiliated nugu bias of all-time.  We even gave her an award in 2017 for doing this cover of THAT Bambino song:

Up in the High – The Best of Everything in Cover Dancing 2017

Well, Ari’s days of being a nugu nada are about to end.  Hadam has invited her to join a her new group Ultra Pussy 119, which was announced in September:

Hadam Starts New Group – 하담의 새로운 댄스 그룹, 큰 성공 (Part One)

And did one amazing performance in front of over one million people, which we reported:

Hadam’s New Group (Ultra Pussy 119) in a Fighting Mood

And is now ready to dance “big time” in February.  Speculation is that they will appear at the Olympics in Pyeongchang.

Ari is a surprising choice for UP 119.  Her ability to cover “New Thang” caught Hadam’s ever-watchful eye & her cover of Hyomin’s “Nice Body” is just plain old-fashioned fappable – and as good as Hyomin’s own version because Ari is  so hot & thcck, like a good Cover dancer should be.

Watch for more of her.

BUT BOMI POLITELY SAID “NO THANKS, UNNIE.”

While a group with Hadam in it will guarantee to be the big hit of the Games, the up-and-coming, #3 ranked KPOP Cover Group, Girl Crush & their stars Bomi & Zia politely declined Hadam’s offer to “audition” for Ultra Pussy 119.

We wouldn’t say Bomi told Hadam to go and kick a soccer ball in the dark & to stay there, but she basically said that Girl Crush IS the new Bambino & respectfully (sort of) saying with her aggressive attempt to get Hadam’s fans: “Thanks but no thanks, Unnie.”

Meanwhile, star members of #2 ICIA Duyoo, Jimin & Jenny of #8 Switch begged to be included. They were not. Jenny, who has appeared with so many other groups (including TwoL) we lost count, was really cheezed.

Hadam & her new group, which includes members Mae, Chae & former Stellar star, Jeolhyul, are working hard at Alive Studio to get ready for their next big appearance.  Jeolhyul has, according to reports, “been unleashed sexually.”

Bomi can be really dangerous!

We will have more about Ultra Pussy 119 as we get closer to the Olympics. You can learn about them by going here.  (Note: the story has been expanded into more than three parts by popular demand!)

  1. Duyoo rejected? WTF?

Ari may be a little on the thcck side but she does look toned as opposed to some of those other cream filled jiggly cover dancers. And, she has that devilish smile going for her…but my spidey senses say beware, think biting off more than you can swallow.

      1. Point well taken.

I see you found Hani’s “Mask Singer” She is surprising with that “honey jazz” voice. BTW…Exid’s Solji was the first “Mask Singer” winner.

Hani & Solji’s “kpop idol status” got bumped up a notch last month when they got to perform on a “Ost” drama. It’s excellent. Not bad for a couple of girls down on their luck and on their way out the door just a few years ago…talk about getting up off the mat.

        https://youtu.be/NOxQ6oR21ak

        1. good info & great show btw. just luv that EXID story. And Hani has been turning me inside/out. I’m getting a whiff of her “real woman” self as she evolves. Makes her a better artist IMHO. Tx for seeing that in them.

      1. Hey Bodhi

Thoughts from an old guy. Eunsol/Dahee/Shasa Instagrams. Eunsol (and Dahee is closing in on her) looks more like Casper the ghost everyday. Dahee dancing in the studio and posting together with Eunsol (it’s actually an Eunsol post). Could it be?? Shasa doing a photo shoot, as Dick Enberg would say “Oh My”.
I’m taking Alabama, oh wait, wrong game. I like Philly with the points, started at 6 1/2, down to 5..Somethings up.
Taking kickboxing classes, just in case I come across Dahee in a dark alley. Hell of a workout. Feel like everyones Dad in class LOL!!!
Later, Life is Good (how do you keep up with all this stuff). Don’t hurt yourself man.

        1. Casper the ghost! LMAO

Kickboxing? Get u on a surfboard next, bro. Don’t sound old to me.

(But Dude if you run into the leg raising queen in a dark alley get some fan service – not kicked! Promise?)

  2. 62 degree day at Zuma bro! Hey, I am enjoying Bomi’s Bodhi rollout almost as much as my new “Taj Mahal.” Is Bomi the real deal though? Or rebound material?

    1. EdgeMan, I had the Hurley suit on all the way!

“Taj’s” parents may not like the idea of an FT from Sacramento hitting on Mumbai’s finest, bro. Beware of first gen parental bias.
In the end this is the USA & it works out but choppy surf & winds may prevail. Lol

Bomi potentially a bad-ass gal. I just need to see her rock that stage harder (& put that fucking gun away….) Dude, she’s already got mine firing round after round.

  3. Hey Bodhicat I love your ranking of girl groups. If Bambino was still dancing how would they do against Laysha? I think Laysha would still be top ones.

  4. Hey Bodhicat, a question: On your other post today you now say Juhee is the best dancer. But you said Chaejin was last time. So who is it?

  5. @Bodhicat – Something I’ve long been wondering, but have never been able to find out through searching, and I’m guessing you can answer:

What kind of audience numbers do dance cover groups get? I know that’s a broad question since they vary wildly from group to group and show to show, but I’m very curious to know the top end of crowd numbers big acts get (or have gotten in their heyday) at big shows vs. small shows. And the same for less popular acts. Any info and/or links you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is it safe to assume that they’re mostly male audiences? Or is that a faulty assumption? Obviously you rarely if ever see the crowd in fancam vids, so I’m just curious about the numbers and the demographics.

    1. Great question. It does vary because of the economics of Cover Dance which are basically are the same, even though Cover itself has grown in popularity.

The basic deal is that the fancam views & “attention” they get (however they can get attention – and anything goes – as Hadam showed us in 2015!) drive the number & quality of bookings their agencies get if the group is any good.

In our “History of Bambino” posts (and hopefully book) & in our upcoming Lists series of “BodhiCat’s Best….” we show the greatest Cover concert of all time, Bambino’s Sunmoon University show. https://youtu.be/vCdCtC-vkYQ The opening shot will give you an idea of the average crowd a solid Cover group at the top of their game & what most others shoot for. These are good-paying gigs.

Groups still perform for free, like Fly with Me in malls & on the street, hoping some fancam will catch them. “Fly” is probably the best example of a group that does events with all sizes of crowds, although they have not really broken out into the 1,000+ venues yet. They do cool stuff like this: https://www.instagram.com/p/BbLRHHyALHS/?taken-by=shasa_fly & have made their way to #4 in our rankings & have some agency $$ behind them now. But they also do semi-pole dancing stuff to pay the bills.

Venues range from very large audiences to tiny clubs. Bambino’s trip to the Sutera Harbor Resort https://youtu.be/vCdCtC-vkYQ in Malaysia shows a range of venues in one single trip that their agency booked for them. It is amazing!!

Laysha & Bambino have done some very big venues, where there were 2,000 people. You saw Sunmoon above. In these cases they are university or city festivals where Idols like Psy or Hyuna or Dalshabet perform too. Laysha had definitely landed close to “Idol territory” now.

Here is an AOA fancam: https://youtu.be/OqdGtvkB2PY that shows a crowd. Cover groups do just as well with the size of their crowds.

This was a big crowd for Bambino: https://youtu.be/wPFtiUN49bg The dirty little secret is that Cover groups go toe-to-toe with Idols in these arenas.

You can find Laysha playing to big crowds & see the crowd make-up & size as GoEun gives legendary up-close fan service. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BaYA-m28HY

There are more fancams now where you see audiences. But it does piss us off that fancammers do not stay with the crowds to track the noise or applause at the end of a performance (a big obsession of BodhiCat’s personally) or pan crowds more. But the devices are designed for photos or videos where there isn’t a lot of quick, cinematic movement. That is why Sunmoon was such a breakthrough & meant Bambino had gone to a new level.

No doubt fancam views are men watching over and over and over (and over….)! Lol But no, concerts are attended by fangirls who have their fave Dancer. Eunsol is incredibly popular among fangirls & shrieking is often heard. If you watch the audience views of Sunmoon & you will see girls in the front. Lots of them. Waveya – we hear – even performed at a an all-girls school in the old days.

      Hope this helps, bro.

      1. Wow, awesome. Very informative, huge thanks for that. I’m not sure why, but I was imagining much larger audiences than 2,000 for the most popular acts. I mean, I didn’t expect sports stadium numbers, just a lot more than 2,000. Granted, I’m terrible at estimating crowd numbers from sight, and I’m probably underestimating just how large of a crowd 2,000 people is. Like that Sunmoon video; had you not said 2,000, I would have guessed it was way more.

Concerning fangirl shrieking, I’ve definitely heard it in some videos, but I wasn’t sure if it was a minority of girls overpowering the lower-frequency cheers of the guys, or what. But as you pointed out, tons of girls in the front rows of that Sunmoon vid. And I suppose it stands to reason that bigger acts would have more adoring fangirls idolizing them, while others likely have a larger guy to girl ratio, with guys showing up to ogle and/or cam basically any hot chick, I would imagine. At least, I’ve definitely seen some cams wherein what are clearly predominantly guys can be heard going nuts during certain parts of the dance routine. Likely smaller acts, and/or cam/mic placement.

Follow-up question if you don’t mind: I’ve read your excellent write-ups on A-Seed’s “Twerk Queen”, Ji Hyun. Even though there haven’t been any A-Seed cams very recently (that I know of), with the days of “Wiggle Wiggle”, “Wassup”, etc being performed by many groups at every show being over (and the “Up & Down” remix being a near rarity/near obsolete), it seems to me that Ji Hyun (and company, to a lesser extent) are carrying the twerk torch. Even Laysha seems to have fallen off in this respect, since afaik, they don’t to do their “C’mon Baby” intro anymore. But I’m not as well versed in the cam scene as you, so maybe I’m mistaken?

Basically, I’m subscribed to a bunch of cam channels on YT, and every few days I check my subs, looking for hot outfits and/or some indication that twerking is present in a video, but the latter is often hard to determine unless the thumb happened to fall on a twerk-centric part, or the uploader made the effort of choosing one. Aside from A-Seed, the only one I’ve seen recently is ICIA doing “Talk Dirty” (especially that 171002 performance).

So what I’m asking is, are there any current/recent groups that consistently provide some good twerk, other than A-Seed?

        1. Dude: tx again.Maybe our readers know the answers here too.

We don’t have accurate counts either & as we say with Cover it is whatever they can book (like Switch doing a club Switch in club: https://youtu.be/9AxBfWLmCg0) but as groups get more popular their crowds swell. Some have played in front of crowds up to 10k.

I really like that twerk question. It shows an informed reader who knows Cover. Fan service, hot, worked-up crowds, chicks pushing the edge & twerking are among its best features.

Black Queen (who you should check out if you like strong booty moves & twerking) used to get big crowds. They are now Hey Girls. http://www.kpopscene.com/hey-girls/ & Jandi back in 2012-2014 could make you cry she had such a hot booty. Check out their older stuff. Her twerking is nice & hopefully she’ll do some in her new gig.

And in our #2 ranking post https://bodhispeaks.com/kpop-cover-dance-fall-rankings-2-kpop check out Duyoo in the 4th fancam down. She buries a twerk that is hot as you’ll see. She’s an amazing body dancer.

And if you don’t know Waveya, introduce yourself. They twerk in their sleep.

Laysha’s GoEun always gives us a twerk just about every time she can. “Belly of the Beast” is a song she owns. Chaejin’s version of this one crush too.

You can be our twerk R&D group, bro. Send any you find. Twerks are us…..

Remember Hadam said in (now removed) Instagram post during Bambino days: “I like to twerk. Why do people criticize me for doing it?” Sad she even had to ask the question.

          1. Great stuff, thanks again. I didn’t know of Black Queen, much less that Ji Hyun used to be in BQ, so that was a pleasant surprise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DK-5UvYyEEo&t=152

I’ve seen Duyoo, but — as far as that particular performance goes anyway — I’m more of a Lee Ae guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfKogGbmUs0 Though to be fair, I haven’t given Duyoo a lot of consideration, so I’ll have to review further. Sometimes dancers who I initially dismiss sneak up on me later and become personal GOATs.

GoEun doing “Belly of the Beast” (s’what I meant by “C’mon Baby” song; couldn’t think of the name at the time) is definitely a favorite, but they’ve stopped doing it, haven’t they? At least, the last couple/few times Laysha’s popped up in my sub feed, it was notably absent. Or did I just miss it somehow?

As far as twerk R&D goes (lol), doesn’t seem like you miss much, but if I see anything that might have slipped under the radar, I’ll be sure to report.
I do have a k-booty-pop playlist, probably nothing you haven’t seen, but here it is anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vA1tN4hrydM&list=PLJ2CqV_9NSiNoIaNiq2A6jQq1Pgmp95wO It’s not exhaustive, and it focuses solely on the booty popping variety of twerking. After the first few, it’s sorted by group.

Also, a Jini “Wiggle Wiggle”-only playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYiIn1LLcAw&list=PLJ2CqV_9NSiPA5QVcE4JceFhpWIgLukuL First few are the most rear-facing available, followed by several choice ones, then sorted by outfit after that.

“I like to twerk. Why do people criticize me for doing it?”

I don’t know who was criticizing her, or why, but one thing I’ve noticed on /r/kpopfap is that whenever a twerk clip is posted, like clockwork the gatekeeping fucktards show up to cry “ass too small!”, or “cultural appropriation!”, or to post the Tina twerking gif: https://media.giphy.com/media/3o6ZtpWvwnhf34Oj0A/giphy.gif And they’re all usually highly upvoted by those who obviously only went to the comments either to post the same thing, or to make sure that their opinion had already been validated and support it. “This doesn’t turn me on, and/or doesn’t meet my criteria for what constitutes twerking, and I must make it known at every opportunity!”. Whatever. Fuck those guys. Haters are always the most vocal.

    1. Oh wow! Love that idea. Two confident queens from #1 & #3 groups w/different approaches for their fans. Let us get to work on that after our Top 10 video is out. Thanks!

  6. Hi Bodhi! Is it true Eunsol blocked you on her Instagram? We heard JS told her and Dahee to because they don’t want any questions in Korean about why Hadam left the group. They do that to reporters in KPOP there you know. Crazy because you promoted them! What happened? Lol

    1. For real?! What!? it’s like North Korea at JS Entertainment? Bodhispeaks promotes Bambino. And why don’t they tell us what happened to Hadam anyway?
